Are you experienced in business development and market growth and want to volunteer 1-2 hours per week for a leading climate non-profit?
Lawyers for Net Zero needs someone to provide guidance on our new business plans and strategy so we can grow our industry-leading offering.
The Role – Business Development Lead
The Business Development Lead volunteer will mentor the leadership team to support us to grow exponentially.
We are a rapidly growing non-profit working with one of the most powerful sectors in UK society, namely the in-house legal community, to deliver significant climate action.
The role is highly significant for us at our current stage as we are preparing to scale-up, hence we would require your commitment for 6 months minimum. The role is fully remote.
We have a vibrant group of volunteers supporting us, and are looking to add to this volunteer team.
The role-holder will work closely with our CEO to provide perspectives on our plans and then guide us as we implement them.
Get in touch with us if you’d like to use your skills to make a difference to the way we achieve our objectives in the immediate and long-term.

ROLE SCOPE
Whilst our immediate needs are to work directly with the UK in-house legal sector, we intend to go beyond this to grow our mission and programmes globally.
To do this, as a Business Development Lead, you will support and guide us to:
Continue to develop our powerful proposition and strategy that captures the Lawyers for Net Zero ethos and helps us grow exponentially.
Understand cost-effective CRM and other tools/software to help including developing prospect lists etc.
Gather market intelligence about trends shaping the market landscape to help inform our ongoing strategy.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll have:
Background in a business development, sales and lead generation.
Additional experience in a marketing related role would be an advantage.
Track record of delivering across the full BD lifecycle.
Good analytical skills and the ability to analyse business development related insights and data to make recommendations.
Commercial approach yet understanding that we are a non-profit entity.
Knowledge on how to build out a CRM system.
Ideally you’ll have worked in one or more of: small businesses, non-profits and/or entrepreneurial start-ups.
We need you to be available to attend meetings during UK business hours and be fluent in English.
You’ll also be motivated by the opportunity to volunteer for a leading non-profit working to keep a liveable planet for all.
All our team members have a can-do attitude and are curious and creative. Team members typically ask constructive questions and approach all their work with a service attitude and growth mindset.
TIME COMMITMENT
1 - 2 hours on average a week - minimum 6 months commitment, but ideally 12 months.
It might require approx. 2 hours initially as you guide us on setting up new systems, and if you have more time available this would be helpful.
This also could be done as part of pro-bono hours.
The climate crisis isn’t going away, and we need you!
