Lawyers for Net Zero is a rapidly growing non-profit working with one of the most powerful sectors in UK society: the in-house legal community, to deliver significant climate action. We have a vibrant group of volunteers supporting us, and are looking to add to the team.

A finalist in The Lawyer Awards 2022 for best ‘Sustainability Initiative’, we already have over 100 in-house Champions, who are active participants in our ‘Impact Programme’, including General Counsels from organisations such as Standard Chartered, E.ON, GSK, Vodafone, NatWest, and Rolls Royce.

The Role - TALENT ADVISOR (volunteer)

We are looking for a volunteer to support us in identifying other talented individuals to join Lawyers for Net Zero as we continue to grow.

This is a consultancy / strategic role.

Core responsibilities:

  • GUIDANCE on how we create and deliver an effective volunteer recruitment process from start to finish:

    • Identifying the Hiring Needs

    • Preparing the Job Description

    • Talent Search

    • Screening and Shortlisting

    • Interviewing

    • Evaluation and Offer

    IMPORTANT NOTE: most of the practical delivery of this process will be done by others.

    • Your role would be to offer your expertise. You will guide and give feedback on our talent acquisition strategy and materials, and these plans will then be delivered by other members of the core team.

  • Our goal, together, is to find the best volunteers possible.

Job Skills Required:

  • Practical experience, particularly in recruitment and talent acquisition.

  • Languages: the working language of the organisation is English and fluency in this is required.

  • Motivated by the opportunity to join a leading non-profit working keep a liveable planet for all.

  • NOTE: whilst it would be ideal if you had experience in recruiting volunteers, it isn’t required

About you:

  • You’re likely to have experience in one of the following:

    • HR and Talent Acquisition in a corporate, SME, charity or public body

    • Recruitment Consultancy

  • This position would be ideal for a candidate with some flexibility in their schedule and looking for a dynamic volunteering opportunity. You might for example be returning to work after maternity/child-raising, semi-retired, freelance, part-time, in-between projects.

Time Commitment: 

  • 1-2 hours on average a week - minimum 3 months commitment.

  • A few hours a week to help change the world: the climate crisis isn’t going away, and we need you!
